Convert Word documents to PDF

Word to PDF turns a .docx file into a PDF with selectable text, keeping its headings, bold, italic and underlined text, bullet and numbered lists, tables, links and pictures. Choose the paper size, orientation, margins and page numbers.

The document is converted in your browser, so it isn’t uploaded. Word-specific layout such as fonts, columns, text boxes and Word headers isn’t copied exactly; for an identical copy use “Save as PDF” in Word. To change the text first, open the file in our WordPad to PDF editor.

Privacy and price

Your PDFs are processed by your own browser (using the open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js libraries), so they’re never uploaded to us or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page. Does the PDF keep my formatting?

Headings, bold, italic, underline, lists, tables, links and pictures are kept. Fonts, columns, text boxes and headers or footers set in Word are replaced with clean defaults, so the layout won’t be identical. For a perfect copy, use “Save as PDF” in Word itself.

Can I convert old .doc files?

Not directly. Open the file in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs, save it as .docx, then convert it.

Is my information uploaded?

No. It works entirely in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device.
