Files up to 50 MB and 300,000 rows (6 million cells) can be cleaned. Very large files depend on your device’s memory; a computer copes better than a phone.
The file is read and cleaned inside your browser, on your device. Its contents aren’t uploaded to our server or sent to any other service, and your original file is never changed. When you download, the site only receives a one-way fingerprint of the finished file (so a repeat download within 24 hours is free), not the data itself. Saved recipes are kept in your browser.
CSV downloads are protected against “formula injection”: text starting with =, +, - or @ gets a leading apostrophe so it opens as text in Excel or Google Sheets. In Excel downloads, text is always stored as text, so it can’t run as a formula.
Everything except the download is free and needs no account: open files, see the score and suggestions, clean, preview, undo and compare. Downloading the cleaned file or the report uses one export.

Open the CSV, go to Clean → Duplicate rows, and choose whether whole rows must match or only certain columns (for example the email column). You can ignore capitals and extra spaces, choose to keep the first or last copy, and preview the rows that will be removed before applying.
No. The cleaner works on a copy in your browser and your original file is never touched. Every step can be undone, and “Start again” goes back to the data exactly as it was uploaded.
Yes. Choose the date columns and a format such as YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY. Dates like 03/04/2026 can mean 3 April or 4 March, so if a column doesn’t show which, the cleaner asks whether your dates are day-first or month-first instead of guessing. Times are kept as written.
