Convert spreadsheets to PDF tables

Excel to PDF turns Excel (.xlsx, .xls), OpenDocument (.ods) and CSV files into tidy PDF tables, one section per sheet, with the header row repeated on every page and the text sized so every column fits.

Values appear as the spreadsheet shows them, including formatted dates, currencies and formula results. Charts, pictures and cell colours aren’t included. Up to 5,000 rows and 40 columns per sheet.

Privacy and price

Your PDFs are processed by your own browser (using the open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js libraries), so they’re never uploaded to us or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page. Trying the tool is free; each download uses 1 export (one PDF or one ZIP), and downloading the same result again within 24 hours is free. See pricing.

How to use the Excel to PDF

  1. Click the box and choose an Excel, OpenDocument or CSV file.
  2. Tick the sheets to include, and choose paper size, orientation, text size, header row and grid lines.
  3. Press Convert and download the PDF.

Is the Excel to PDF free?

Using it and previewing the result are free. Downloading, copying or saving the final result uses 1 export: from £1.00 for 5, or included in a monthly plan. The same result again within 24 hours is free.

How are wide sheets handled?

With Automatic orientation, sheets with more than 6 columns are turned to landscape, and the text size shrinks (down to 6 pt) so every column fits the page width. Long sheets continue over several pages with the header row repeated.

Are formulas, charts and colours included?

Each cell shows its value as Excel displays it (formulas show their results). Charts, pictures, merged cells and cell colours aren’t included.

Is my information uploaded?

No. It works entirely in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
