Convert audio between MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, Opus, AIFF and more, one file or a batch, with quality settings.
The Soft Premium Tools Multiple Format Audio Converter changes audio files from one format to another, such as MP3 to WAV, FLAC to MP3 or M4A to MP3, one at a time or in batches. It uses FFmpeg, the open-source engine behind most audio and video software, running inside your browser: your files aren’t uploaded, and no AI or online conversion service is involved.
Plays everywhere. 96–320 kbps constant bitrate, or VBR quality V0–V9.
Uncompressed PCM: 16-bit (CD quality), 24-bit or 32-bit integer, or 32-bit floating point.
Lossless and about half the size of WAV. Compression levels 0–12, 16 or 24-bit.
Small files for Apple devices and phones. M4A can also hold Apple Lossless (ALAC).
Open formats: Vorbis with quality q0–q10, Opus with 32–256 kbps.
Uncompressed audio for Mac software, 16, 24 or 32-bit.
WMA, ALAC, CAF, AU, AC3, E-AC3, MP2, WavPack, MKA and WebM audio.
It reads all of these, plus AMR voice recordings and the sound track of MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM videos. Each file is identified from its contents, not its name, so a renamed or damaged file is reported instead of being converted wrongly.

Lossless formats (WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, WavPack) keep every detail of the audio you give them. Lossy formats (MP3, AAC, OGG, Opus, WMA) make much smaller files by leaving out sound you’re unlikely to hear. Converting a lossy file to a lossless format keeps it exactly as it is but can’t restore what was already lost, and raising the sample rate or bit depth makes a file bigger without adding detail. When a file is already in the codec you want, the converter copies the audio instead of re-encoding it, so nothing is lost. The converter tells you when a conversion will lose quality.
Converting and checking your files is free to try. Each converted file you download uses 1 export, also when it’s inside a ZIP, and downloading the same file again within 24 hours is free. See pricing for export packs and monthly plans.
FFmpeg is free software licensed under the GNU GPL (version 2 or later). This converter uses the ffmpeg.wasm build of FFmpeg 5.1, whose source code is published there.

No. The converter is FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, and it runs inside your browser, so your audio never leaves your device and nothing is kept after you close the page. The converter itself (about 31 MB) is downloaded once and then cached by your browser.
MP3, WAV (16, 24 or 32-bit integer, or 32-bit float), FLAC, AAC, M4A (AAC or Apple Lossless), OGG Vorbis, Opus, AIFF, WMA, ALAC, CAF, AU, AC3, E-AC3, MP2, WavPack, MKA and WebM audio. It can also read AMR and the sound from MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM videos, but can’t write AMR.
No. WAV and FLAC are lossless, so they keep the sound exactly as it is in your MP3, but they can’t bring back the detail MP3 compression removed. Converting between two lossy formats (for example AAC to MP3) loses a little more quality each time, so use a high bitrate, or keep your original.
Not unless you ask it to. If the audio is already in the codec you chose (for example AAC from an M4A into an .aac file), it’s copied into the new file without re-encoding, which is faster and loses nothing. Turn off “Copy audio” in Advanced settings to re-encode with your chosen quality.
Up to 50 files at a time and 500 MB each. Speed depends on your device: on a typical laptop an hour of audio converts to MP3 in about a minute. Phones are slower and have less memory, so very large files are best converted on a computer.
Yes, where the new format supports them, including names in any language. You can turn this off in Advanced settings. Cover pictures aren’t copied.
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
