Combine PDF files into one

Merge PDF joins several PDF files into a single document in the order you choose: reports, invoices, scanned pages, contracts and their appendices. Pages are copied exactly, so text stays selectable and nothing loses quality.

How to merge PDF files

MergeThe new PDF is built and checked: its page count must match the total.

Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first. Interactive form fields and bookmarks may not carry over into the merged file.

Privacy and price

Your PDFs are processed by your own browser (using the open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js libraries), so they’re never uploaded to us or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page. Is the Merge PDF free?

Using it and previewing the result are free. Downloading, copying or saving the final result uses 1 export: from £1.00 for 5, or included in a monthly plan. The same result again within 24 hours is free.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

Up to 30 files at a time, each up to 100 MB (300 MB in total) and up to 2,000 pages. To merge more, merge in batches and then merge the results.

Will the quality change?

No. Pages are copied into the new PDF exactly as they are, so text stays sharp and selectable and images aren’t recompressed.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not while they’re locked. Remove the password first (you’ll need to know it), then merge.

Is my information uploaded?

No. It works entirely in your browser, so your text and files stay on your device.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
