AI Search Visibility Checker

Audit how ready your website is for AI search: crawler access, clear content, structure, structured data and trust signals, with prioritised fixes.

Each AI request uses exports according to how much text it reads and writes. You see the most it can use before you start, and you pay only for what’s actually used; copying and downloading the answer are included.

Is your website ready for AI search?

The AI Search Visibility Checker audits how accessible, clear, well-structured and trustworthy your website looks to AI-powered search and answer engines and to traditional search. It checks your robots.txt rules for each major crawler, your sitemap and up to 10 pages, then gives an explainable readiness score and prioritised fixes based on real evidence.

What it checks

  • Crawler access

Whether Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and AI training crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and CCBot are allowed by your robots.txt.

  • Crawlability

Page status, redirects, noindex and nosnippet, sitemaps, and whether the main content is in the HTML or only added by JavaScript.

  • Clarity and answerability

Titles, a single clear H1, an introduction that explains the page, enough substance and questions answered directly.

  • Structure

Heading order, the main landmark, image alt text, descriptive links and the page language.

  • Structured data

Whether JSON-LD can be read, an Organization or LocalBusiness on the home page, and authors and dates on articles.

  • Trust signals

About, contact and policy pages, authors and dates on articles, plus SEO basics such as meta descriptions, canonicals and duplicate titles.

An honest, explainable score

Each check passes, partly passes or fails, with the evidence and the affected pages. Checks that couldn’t be run are shown and left out of the score, never counted as passes. This is an AI search readiness audit: it doesn’t track whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews or Perplexity actually cite your site, and no score can guarantee visibility in AI answers or rankings. An optional AI explanation turns the findings into a plain-English action plan with examples from your own pages.

Price and privacy

This AI tool needs a free account and is paid from bought exports or the Monthly 50 allowance (not Unlimited or free welcome credits), because every request costs us an AI fee. A request usually uses 1 export: before it runs, the most it can use is checked, and you then pay only for what the AI actually read and wrote. Failed requests cost nothing, and copying and downloading the results are included. See pricing. Our server reads only public pages, follows robots.txt and refuses private network addresses. Reports are saved in your browser. For the optional AI explanation, the findings and a short excerpt go to Anthropic’s Claude; nothing is used to train AI.

Questions about this tool

Is the AI Search Visibility Checker free?

It’s paid per AI request: each request uses exports according to how much text the AI reads and writes, usually 1 export. You see the most a request can use before it runs and pay only for what it actually used; failed requests cost nothing, and copying and downloading the results are included. AI requests are paid from bought exports (from £1.00 for 5) or the Monthly 50 allowance.

Does it check whether ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews cite my site?

No. It’s a readiness audit based on what can be observed on your site: robots.txt rules, sitemaps and the HTML of your pages. Real citation tracking needs data from the AI services themselves, which isn’t included, and no audit can guarantee visibility in AI answers.

How is the readiness score calculated?

Each check passes (100%), partly passes (50%) or fails (0%) and has a weight. Categories are crawlability 25%, content clarity 25%, structure 15%, structured data 10%, trust signals 15% and SEO basics 10%. Checks that couldn’t be run are shown and left out, never counted as passes.

Which AI crawlers does it check?

Googlebot, Google-Extended, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Applebot-Extended and CCBot, against your robots.txt rules for the start page. Search crawlers and AI training crawlers are separate choices, and the report explains what each is used for.

How many pages are checked?

A single page, or a site audit of the start page plus up to 9 pages linked from it. The report always says how many pages were analysed, failed or skipped, so it never implies the whole site was checked.

How much does it cost?

Each audit uses 1 export, charged only if it completes. The optional AI explanation usually uses 1 more. Saved reports and downloads are free.

Is my information uploaded?

What you enter is sent to our server to do the lookup, and the result may be cached briefly so the tool stays fast. Nothing else from your device is uploaded.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
